"She
Was So In Love With Him..."
...that to get his attention she would flit about the room acting as if she was not paying any attention to him. The more she would flit the higher she would fly. Anything to make him look at her. One day she asked him to help. He left his canvas. He could not breathe without his paint...
"She Was So In Love With Him" is my first attempt in bringing the essence of flat, stable paper into an element of light, floaty fabric to support the mood of the photograph. This image is from "The Virgin Warrior Leads No Pure Angels", an alter ego biography of M. Violet Kohler and her adventures around the world. The photographic series begins when M. Violet receives this title in a dream and begins to search for the spirit of the Virgin Warrior. All of the photographs in this series are semi-self portraits.
